Auckland - Bay of Islands - Rotorua - Island with a live volcano, White Island - Abel Tasman - Lake Wanaka - magnificent Queenstown - Fiordland - Dunedin - Mt. Cook - Christchurch.

Highlights: This journey from one end of New Zealand to another has a surprise around every corner - mountains, lakes, hot springs, beaches, bays, lovely towns, secluded villages, glaciers, fiords, un-spoilt forests, rocky and wild. Just about everywhere you look there is stunning scenery of varying contrasts.

ITINERARY:

Day 1: Arrive in Auckland and private transfer to hotel in Auckland (1 hr approx from airport).
Overnight at Auckland.  The rental car will be delivered at the hotel.

Day 2: Drive to Paihia in the Northland ( 3 to 4 hrs), overnight at Paihia.

Day 3: Private transfer to a small airport (1 hr) for your Scenic flight to Cape Reinga over the ninety mile beach. Return back to Paihia.

Day 4: Drive from Paihia to Auckland (3 to 4 hrs), overnight at Auckland.

Day 5: Auckland to Whakatane (5 hrs). Overnight at this lovely bay side town, Whakatane.

Day 6: Morning cruise to the volcanic White Island, post cruise drive to Rotorua (2hrs). Overnight at a farm near Rotorua.

Day 7: Enjoy your farm stay, you may also opt for the optional Seat in coach tour of Rotorua. Overnight at Rotorua. 

Day 8: Drop car at Rotorua airport and board flight for Nelson. Arrival at Nelson and drive to Abel Tasman  park (1 hr), overnight at Motueka or Marahau.

Day 9: Enjoy the environs of Abel Tasman Park.

Day 10: Relax at Abel Tasman Park.

Day 11: Drive to Nelson and board flight for Queenstown. Pick up another car from airport counter and drive to your hotel in Lake Wanaka (1.5 hrs). Overnight at Lake Wanaka.

Day 12: In the afternoon drive to Queenstown. Overnight at Queenstown.

Day 13: Overnight at Queenstown.

Day 14: Overnight at Queenstown.

Day 15: Queenstown to Te Anau (2.5 hrs), overnight stay at Te Anau, a lovely lakeside village. 

Day 16: Drive to a point (30 mins to Manapouri), park your car, transfer by ferry to an island and board the Doubtful Sound Cruise - Overnight on Cruise ship with dinner.

Day 17: Breakfast on board the cruise ship. Dis-embark from ship, you will be dropped back to your car parking point. Pick up car and later depart for Dunedin (4 hrs).  Overnight at Dunedin.

Day 18: Overnight at Dunedin. Seat in coach tour of Natures Wonder and Albatross colony.

Day 19: Dunedin to Mt. Cook (4 to 5 hrs). Overnight at Mt. Cook.

Day 20: Overnight at Mt. Cook.  

Day 21: Mt. Cook to Christchurch (4 hrs), overnight at this lovely city.

Day 22: Visit the Antartic centre. Overnight at Christchurch.

Day 23: Drop rental car at car office, walk to the hotel. You will be picked up from hotel and dropped to Christchurch airport.
